> Recreation Programs > Adult Sports Futsal General Information What is Futsal? "Futsal" is derived from the Spanish or Portuguese word for "soccer". This game is a played on basketball-sized courts, both indoors and out. Futsal is frequently referred to as Five-a-Side. Get your team and come out the the Glenwood Springs Community Center and try this high octane team sport. ***Remember*** A registration form must accompany payment. To qualify as a resident team, 55% of all player mus be City of Glenwood Springs residents. Team misusing residency requirements will be eliminated from the league. Exception: Teams sponsored by City of Glenwood Springs businesses are considered resident teams.
