Learn 2 Skate Ice Skating Lessons
This year, classes will be separated by grade level and then skill level once class begins. Sessions will meet for six weeks for 30 minutes. Please dress your children appropriately, including gloves and warm pants. Preschool Skating requires a helmet; and for all beginners, helmets are recommended. Please arrive at the rink at least 20 minutes before class starts.Rental skates are included in lesson price. Fee: $45 R / $55 NR (includes skates if needed) Min/Max: 5/14

Classes may be combined or split based on participant ability level and the number of
registered participants.
Skating Levels:
Snow Plow 1: Skaters sit and stand up with skates on/off the ice, march in place, march forward 8-10 steps, march then glide on two feet, and dip in place.
Snow Plow 2: Skaters march followed by a long glide, dip while moving, backward wiggle, 6 in a row, forward two foot swizzle, 2-3 in a row, rocking horse, and two-foot hop in place.
Level 1: Skaters sit on the ice and stand up, march forward across the ice, forward two-foot glide, dip, forward swizzles, backward wiggles, snowplow stop, and a two-foot hop.
Level 2: Skaters will forward glide on one foot, backward two-foot glide, backward swizzle, two- foot turn forward to backward in place, moving snowplow stop, forward alternating ½ swizzle pumps, skate in a straight line.
Level 3: Skaters will skate a forward stroke showing correct use of their edges, forward ½ swizzle pumps in a circle, clockwise and counter-clockwise, move forward to backward, two-foot turn clockwise and counter-clockwise, backward one-foot glides, forward slalom, two-foot spin, up to 2 revolutions.
Private Skating Lessons
Private lesson punch passes are available in 30 minute increments at the community center. An interest, experience, and availability form needs to be completed and an instructor will contact you to schedule lessons during a public skating session. Please dress appropriately, including
gloves and warm pants. Helmets are required for all
skate lesson participants. If you don’t have one, we
have them for your use, free of charge. Attendance is
required for the first class. Please arrive at the rink
20 min prior to the start of class. Rental skates are
included in the price.
