Area Trails

Please check the US Forest Service site for special alerts and notices regarding trail and road closures. Click the link for the Rifle Ranger District, which contained to most up-to-date information for weather and road/trail conditions.

Whenever planning a back country hike, even just a day hike, it's important to bring along these essential items:
  • Navigation: Map, compass, altimeter, GPS device, personal locator beacon (PLB) or satellite messenger
  • Sun Protection: UV-protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen
  • Headlamp or flashlight: It's smart to have one in your pack even for day-trips in case of an emergency. Remember extra batteries!
